Consulting.
I established Forensic Sound several years ago. During my studio engineering days, I was often called on to work on badly recorded audio tracks. These requests came from individuals, lawyers, law enforcement, and other groups. I always liked the challenge and thought of it as a sound puzzle. Solving it was both fun and rewarding.
Early in 2000, I had a renewed interest in the field due to the expanding areas of forensic studies. I did a huge amount of research relating to audio forensics. I attended courses in forensics and received certifications which allowed me to become a member of the American College of Forensic Examiners. I have continued my studies by attending seminars and events such as the Audio Engineering Society’s conference on Forensic Audio In The Digital Age.

I am pleased to have established a client base from many different states. The cases are varied and range from simple audio processing to complex voice identification. Check out the web site. I think you will find it interesting. Click here to visit.
Consulting
Forensic Sound
My consulting work falls into several categories. My degree is in Physics, with a minor in math. The basics of sound are defined by both disciplines.

A former boss and mentor let me work with him on the layout and design of 3 studios and control rooms at our new company branch in Dallas in 1965. Subsequently,  I partnered with a friend and engineer and during the 70’s we designed and/or built several studios and control rooms in the Dallas area. Since his passing, I have continued work on acoustics and various installations on my own. These projects included the basic design for several sound stages, in the Dallas area. I have also been involved in acoustic consulting for the remodeling and/or treatment of several auditoriums, churches, and audio visual facilities production areas.

Noise studies and environmental noise analysis became part of my project list during the last decade. I have conducted studies at oil pumping sites, dog kennels, churches, and Go Kart tracks, to name a few. Not unlike forensics, these studies provide a wealth of data about the spaces being investigated. It’s a bit of a different world, so visit my site by clicking here.
